Frequently asked questions
November to March is the main season (Southern Hemisphere summer). January and February are busiest; November and March offer better availability and slightly fewer crowds. The W trek (4-5 days) and the full O circuit (8-10 days) are the classic routes.
Easter Island (Rapa Nui) has basic 4G in Hanga Roa (the main town) and reasonable coverage near main moai sites. Remote coastal moai areas can be patchy.
Fly to Calama (CJC) from Santiago — about 2 hours — then take a transfer (45 min) to San Pedro de Atacama. Alternatively, there are overnight buses, but the flight is strongly recommended.
